Applications are now open for the 2026 Germany HZDR Summer Student Program, a fully funded opportunity for international students. This program offers undergraduate and master’s students a chance to join cutting-edge research groups at the Dresden HZDR Research Center in Germany, from July to September 2026. Participants will spend 6 to 9 weeks gaining hands-on research experience, under the guidance of experienced mentors.

Financial Support
The HZDR Summer Program provides comprehensive financial support, including:
- Free accommodation throughout the program
- Daily stipend: €36/day to cover living expenses
- Travel insurance and local transport (bus tickets)
- Access to lectures and lab tours
Note: Airfare is not included.
Program Objective
The HZDR Summer Student Program aims to invite enrolled undergraduate and master’s students from around the world to join research groups at HZDR. Participants will:
- Work on a research project under expert supervision
- Gain hands-on experience in labs and research activities
- Attend lectures, workshops, and lab tours to expand scientific knowledge
- Present final research outcomes under mentor guidance
Essentially, this program functions as a summer research internship with international exposure.
Eligibility Criteria
The program is open to international students who:
- Are enrolled undergraduate or master’s students
- Study any field related to physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, life sciences, engineering, or computer sciences
- Have a valid student ID
- Previous work experience is not required
- Students currently studying in Germany are also eligible
