What the Scholarship Covers
Tuition waivers vary by programme:
- PhD STEM: 100%
- PhD SHAPE and S.J.D.: 100%
- STEM Master’s: 75%
- SHAPE MS and MA: 60%
- J.D.: 60%
Selected students may also receive monthly stipends:
- International PhD: 9,000 QAR/month
- International Master’s: 7,000 QAR/month
- Qatari PhD: 11,000 QAR/month
- Qatari Master’s: 9,000 QAR/month
- Local PhD: 5,000 QAR/month
- Local Master’s: 4,000 QAR/month
Stipends are subject to funding availability and university conditions.
Additional Benefits
Eligible international students may receive:
- One inbound flight to Qatar at the start of their programme
- One outbound flight upon graduation
- Access to Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant opportunities
Note: Students are responsible for their own housing costs.
Eligibility
The scholarship is available to eligible full-time graduate students admitted to participating HBKU programmes.
Students receiving stipends generally must work as Research Assistants for 10 hours per week. Additional employment is subject to university regulations.
World Bank-style general eligibility does not apply here; applicants should check the specific admission and funding requirements of their chosen HBKU programme.
