About the Program
The Graduate Professional Programme provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the UN system.
Participants will support UNIDIR’s Integrated Approaches – Gender and Disarmament Programme and contribute to research, policy, meetings, workshops, conferences, and other program activities.
Responsibilities
Selected participants may be involved in:
- Conducting background and policy research
- Supporting meetings, workshops, conferences, and field missions
- Assisting with communication and coordination
- Supporting administrative and program-related activities
- Preparing written briefs and research materials
- Contributing to projects related to peace, security, disarmament, and emerging technologies
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should generally:
- Be enrolled in a Master’s degree or higher, or
- Have graduated within the past year and be able to begin the program within one year of graduation
- Demonstrate an interest in international peace and security, disarmament, cybersecurity, AI, emerging technologies, gender issues, youth engagement, or UN-related work
- Have strong research, analytical, and communication skills
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Be able to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment
No professional work experience is required.
