About the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals
The SI Scholarship is awarded for full-time, one- or two-year master’s programmes taught in English at Swedish universities. It is designed for students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to development.
Each year, hundreds of students are selected to join the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP), a platform that fosters professional growth, cultural exchange, and long-term collaboration.
What the Scholarship Covers
The SI Scholarship is fully funded, making it one of the most competitive scholarships in Europe. It includes:
- Full tuition fees – paid directly to the university.
- Monthly living allowance: SEK 12,000 per month.
- Travel grant: SEK 15,000 (SEK 10,000 for select countries).
- Membership in NFGP – access to workshops, leadership programmes, and networking opportunities.
- Lifetime access to Sweden Alumni Network after graduation.
Note: The scholarship does not cover family members, insurance, or the university application fee.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be a citizen of one of the 33 eligible countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia
- Apply for an eligible master’s programme in Sweden (list published in November 2025).
- Be liable to pay tuition fees to Swedish universities.
- Have at least 3,000 hours of work experience (for most eligible countries).
- Show leadership experience from work, volunteering, or civil society engagement.
❌ You are not eligible if you:
- Already studied in Sweden or hold a degree from a Swedish university.
- Lived in Sweden for 2 years or more prior to the scholarship period.
- Hold Swedish/EU/EEA citizenship or permanent residency.
- Previously received an SI scholarship.
Key Dates for 2026 Applications
- 16 Oct 2025 – 15 Jan 2026: Apply for master’s programmes via University Admissions.
- 12 Nov 2025: List of eligible programmes & required SI documents published.
- 9 – 25 Feb 2026: SI Scholarship application portal open (2 weeks only!).
- 26 Mar 2026: University Admissions results announced.
- 23 Apr 2026: SI Scholarship recipients announced.
How to Apply
- Apply for a Master’s Programme – Choose up to 4 programmes via University Admissions before 15 Jan 2026.
- Apply for the SI Scholarship – Submit required documents through SI’s online portal during the scholarship window (9–25 Feb 2026).
- Screening & Evaluation – SI reviews academic merit, work experience, and leadership potential.
- University Admissions Results – Announced 26 Mar 2026.
- Final Selection & Scholarship Awards – Recipients announced on 23 Apr 2026.
