Applications are open for the UN Youth Townhall 2026, taking place in Heidelberg, Germany, from 8–10 December 2026.
The event will bring together more than 1,000 young people, government representatives, UN officials, civil society organizations, entrepreneurs and researchers to discuss youth participation and decision-making.
The UN Youth Office will provide support to a limited number of selected young people to attend the event in person.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be 18–35 years old.
- Be available to attend the event in Heidelberg from 8–10 December 2026.
- Demonstrate interest or experience in youth-related issues.
- Be able to actively contribute to discussions and group activities.
- Ideally have experience with a grassroots organization or youth-led initiative.
Important: The UN Youth Office cannot sponsor young people who are currently under contract with the United Nations.
Selection
Selection will consider:
- Geographical diversity
- Gender balance
- Representation of underrepresented and marginalized youth
- Grassroots involvement
- Youth-led initiatives
- Applicants with limited or no previous engagement with the UN
Applicants who have not received an update by 8 October 2026 should assume that their application was unsuccessful.
