Applications are open for the Chicago Booth Journalists in Residence Program 2027, a fully funded professional development opportunity for journalists from around the world.
The program is hosted by the Stigler Center at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and offers selected journalists the opportunity to spend approximately 12 weeks in Chicago, gaining knowledge in political economy while building professional connections.
There is no application fee, and applicants of all nationalities are eligible.

What Does the Program Cover?
Selected participants will receive:
- $14,000 stipend for living expenses during the program
- Economy-class airfare to and from Chicago
- Reimbursement of SEVIS and visa application fees
- Health insurance through the University of Chicago
- Housing guidance and resources for finding accommodation
- Certificate of participation upon successful completion
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to journalists worldwide who meet the following criteria:
- Applicants of any nationality can apply
- Must be a journalist working in any form of media
- Should have professional journalism experience
- Must have proficient English-language skills
- Should have an interest in political economy and related issues
- Must be available to participate in the full 12-week program in Chicago
