Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to professionals worldwide, including:
Scholars (Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM)
- With a record of publications or research excellence

Journalists & Public Intellectuals
- With impactful work in public discourse or policy
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong track record of accomplishments
- Clear, compelling project proposal
- Ability to reside in the Boston area during the fellowship year
Note: PhD is preferred for academic applicants but not mandatory for practitioners (e.g., artists, journalists). Harvard employees are not eligible.

- Curriculum Vitae (CV) – Max 5 pages
- Project Proposal – 1,000–1,300 words outlining goals, method, and expected outcomes
- Work Sample – Writing sample or creative portfolio, based on your field
- Abstract – 100-word summary of your project
- Three Letters of Recommendation

The fellowship welcomes applicants from all countries. There is no citizenship requirement at the time of application. Selected international fellows must obtain the appropriate U.S. visa (with some support from the Institute).
