Applications are now open for the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2027, a fully funded international leadership programme for professionals working on climate change and clean energy.
Organized by the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs, the five-month fellowship brings together emerging leaders from developing countries to strengthen their leadership skills, expand their professional networks, and collaborate with global climate experts.
The programme begins with an in-person session at Yale University in the United States and concludes with a one-week residency in Paris, France.

What the Fellowship Covers
Successful applicants will receive:
- Round-trip airfare to the United States
- Round-trip airfare to Paris, France
- Accommodation during both in-person sessions

- Daily allowance
Fellowship Objectives
The Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship is designed to:
- Develop the next generation of climate and clean energy leaders.
- Connect participants with Yale faculty and global climate experts.
- Build lasting international professional networks.
- Encourage collaboration among leaders tackling climate challenges.
- Introduce fellows to Yale University’s climate research and initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be from a developing country in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or Latin America and the Caribbean (Global South).
- Be fluent in English.
- Have 5–10 years of professional experience with demonstrated achievements.
- Be available to attend the in-person sessions in the United States and France, as well as virtual activities.
- Work in areas such as public service, entrepreneurship, energy, finance, journalism, education, research, civil society, law, or policymaking.
There is no age limit for applicants.
