Funded by the Government of the Slovak Republic, this scholarship programme supports outstanding international students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree at selected public universities in Slovakia.
Successful applicants can receive scholarship funding of up to €15,000 while studying in the heart of Europe.

Scholarship Benefits
The programme provides financial support of up to €15,000 to help cover study-related expenses while attending a selected public or state higher education institution in Slovakia.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country other than Slovakia (dual citizens with Slovak nationality may also qualify under specific conditions).
- Not have had permanent residence in Slovakia since 1 January 2021.
- Have completed their previous education outside Slovakia (with limited exceptions for master’s applicants).
- Apply for or secure admission to an eligible full-time bachelor’s or master’s programme at a participating Slovak public university.
- Submit a CV and motivation letter in English.
- Demonstrate academic excellence and personal talent.
- Meet the admission requirements of the chosen university.
There is no upper age limit. Applicants under 18 years of age must provide parental or guardian consent.
Eligible Study Programmes
The scholarship is available for selected full-time programmes that fall under Slovakia’s Smart Specialisation Strategy (SK RIS3 2021+).
It supports:
- Bachelor’s degree programmes
- Combined bachelor’s and master’s programmes
- Master’s degree programmes
Doctoral (PhD) programmes are not eligible.
Selection Process
Applicants will be ranked based on the results of a recognised standardized test. You may submit either:
- SAT with a minimum score of 1,100, or
- SCIO Tests with an average percentile of 63 in Mathematics and General Academic Prerequisites.
The standardized test score serves as the primary selection criterion.

Applicants should prepare the following:
- Valid passport or national ID
- Declaration confirming no permanent residence in Slovakia since January 2021
- SAT or SCIO test results
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Motivation letter
- University admission letter (if available)
- Guardian consent (for applicants under 18)
- Certificate for Slovaks living abroad (if applicable)
Applicants who receive the scholarship will later be required to submit original copies of their supporting documents to their university.
