Young people from around the world have an opportunity to participate in the UN Youth Townhall 2026, a new global gathering that will bring together more than 1,000 young people, youth organizations, policymakers, UN representatives, researchers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders.
The first-ever UN Youth Townhall will take place in Heidelberg, Germany, from 8–10 December 2026 and is being organized by the United Nations Youth Office.
Selected participants will receive financial support covering key costs associated with attending the event in Germany. The application deadline is 7 September 2026.

What Is the UN Youth Townhall?
The UN Youth Townhall is a new international platform designed to create meaningful opportunities for young people to engage with decision-makers and contribute to discussions that affect their communities and the wider world.
The event will provide a space for young people to share their experiences, exchange ideas, develop recommendations, and build partnerships with governments, international organizations, civil society, and other stakeholders.
The Townhall is part of the UN Youth Compass, an initiative of the United Nations Youth Office focused on strengthening meaningful youth participation in decision-making.
What Will Participants Do?
Participants will take part in discussions and activities focused on strengthening youth participation at local, national, regional, and global levels.
The Townhall will provide opportunities to:

Financial Benefits
The selected participants will receive funding designed to support their participation in the Townhall.

This means successful applicants will not be expected to cover the major costs associated with travelling to Germany for the event.

- Be 18–35 years old at the time of the event.
- Be involved in a youth-led initiative, project, group, movement, or organization at the grassroots, local, national, regional, or global level.
- Be available to participate in all three days of the Townhall.
