Applications are now open for the Google Play Africa Indie Games Fund 2026, a fully funded initiative designed to support independent game development studios across Africa.
The programme will provide equity-free funding, mentorship, and technical support to ten outstanding African game studios, helping them grow their businesses, improve their games, and reach more players worldwide.
Google Play launched the fund as part of its commitment to strengthening Africa’s gaming industry and supporting developers building innovative, high-quality games.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a legally registered independent game studio in one of the eligible African countries.
- Have 50 employees or fewer.
- Have at least one published game on Google Play or another platform such as PC, console, or another mobile app store.
- Show strong business growth potential.
- Be willing to use the funding to develop and expand their games on Google Play.
